Greater operational reliability in the event of a mains power failure
From 1 August, Electroproject will be expanding its GTV-I range with two new TimeXtender modules: the TX-1 SuperCap module and the TX-5 Battery Backup Module.
Both modules have been developed to further enhance the reliability of door control systems in the event of a mains power failure. Depending on the application, you can opt for a short-term, maintenance-free power bridge or a long-term battery-powered backup system. ย
Thanks to the GTV-Iโs modular design, both modules can be easily connected to the control board. This ensures that not only the power supply but also the GTV-Iโs control functions remain active during a power cut. This provides sufficient time to switch to an emergency power supply or to allow critical control programmes, such as a door closing sequence control, to be completed in a controlled manner.
TX-1 SuperCap module
Maintenance-free bridge for those critical seconds
The TX-1 is the ideal solution when only a short-term stopgap is required. The module uses SuperCaps instead of batteries, and is therefore virtually maintenance-free.
In the event of a mains power failure, the entire GTV-I โ including the connected loads โ remains operational for at least 20 seconds operational (depending on the load and the selected programme). In many situations, this is sufficient to allow a UPS or emergency power supply to take over, or to shut down running processes in a controlled manner.ย

TX-5 Battery Backup Module
Long-term backup for critical safety systems
For applications where door control systems need to remain operational even over extended periods, Electroproject is introducing the TX-5 Battery Backup Module.
In combination with a GTV-I BU100 or GTV-I BU250 The GTV-I remains in the battery compartment for at least one hour operational, depending on the type of power supply selected and the connected load. This ensures that door locks, emergency exits and other critical safety functions can continue to operate until the mains power supply is restored or an emergency power supply takes over. ย
The TX-5 features an intelligent battery management system with a bidirectional buck-boost charge controller which continuously monitors the charging and discharging processes. This ensures optimum protection of the batteries and a stable output voltage throughout the entire backup period. ย
